The dream of adding 14 more permanent affordable supportive apartments to the existing 8 very successful apartments for homeless veterans on hallowed historical WW II “Last Stop USA” Camp Shanks is becoming a reality thanks in part to the people of Rockland.
Below is John Manifold, a Purple Heart Veteran of Viet Nam, in which he was a Bull Dozer operator in harms way. Today he is a volunteer unsalaried member of the Board of Directors of RH4H and a volunteer unsalaried full time worker, in this case using his wartime acquired skill clearing the site for construction.
This living memorial on the last parcel of Camp Shanks will be a tribute to all the people who contributed their time, labor and money to honor all our Veterans.
