Each year in early May, Neuberger Berman celebrates the anniversary of our return to our roots as an independent company with a “Celebration with Service,” a week+ of volunteer projects in which we use our talents to benefit others. Our annual spring landscaping and site beautification at Rockland Homes for Heroes is always a high point. This year our time at Rockland Homes for Heroes was especially meaningful because we also honored Rose Barry, our former team member, and colleague, who passed away this winter after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

The Neuberger Berman volunteers were joined by many members of Rose’s family and friends.  Rose’s nieces and nephews, who had pitched in in years past, once again shared their unbounded energy.  In loving memory of Rose’s generosity and dedication to helping those in need, we planted a beautiful pink-flowered cherry tree. As the tree blossoms annually during our Celebration with Service, we will remember Rose’s spirit for many years to come at Rockland Homes for Heroes.

Rose, a Senior Compliance Officer in Legal & Compliance, joined Neuberger Berman in 2010 and quickly proved to be a tremendous asset to the firm and her department. Rose discovered Rockland Homes for Heroes through our annual volunteer event. She quickly expanded her involvement in supporting its mission and delivered personalized gifts to each resident veteran at Christmas time.”
