The Board of Directors of Rockland Homes For Heroes, Inc. is very pleased and proud to announce the election of Judge William Warren to the Board.
Background
During his career he has presided over the Rockland County Criminal Drug Treatment Court and the Integrated Domestic Violence Court.
Judge Warren has been recognized by the Rockland County Bar Association and Rockland County Women’s Bar Association for his work. In 1996 he received the Rockland County Bar Association Liberty Bell Award and in 2004 he was honored by the Rockland Bar Association at their annual dinner for his judicial accomplishments and tireless service to the children of Rockland County. In 2000 he was selected by the Rockland County Women’s Bar Association and was the first man to receive the Belle M. Zeck Award for promoting understanding between the legal profession and the community and advancing the status of women in society.
Prior to his election to the bench, Judge Warren worked as Chief Assistant County Attorney and Director of Legal Services for the Department of Social Services. He is a graduate of Columbia College in 1968, has a Master’s Degree in education from New York University and earned a Law Degree from Brooklyn Law School in 1974. He has served as an instructor or adjunct professor at Rockland Community College, Ramapo College and Manhattanville College.
Judge Warren is a member of the Board of Trustees for the Rockland County YMCA. Before being elected to the Board of Trustees he was President of the Y’s Board of Directors and a member of that Board for many years. He is member of the New City Rotary where he has served as President of the Club and on its Board of Directors. He was a member of the New City Rotary Club Foundation Board. During his career he has served on the Board of Jawonio, the Boy Scouts of America, and Loeb House.
