In early February, John Carollo of the Del Arte’s Restaurant in Orangeburg hosted just some of the extended team of Supporters of the “Rockland Homes For Heroes, Inc” 501[c]3 Charity, which operates the “Supported Apartments” of permanent affordable rental homes for Displaced [Homeless] & Disabled Veterans, located on the former historic “Camp Shanks – Last Stop USA” property, on Western Highway in the hamlet of Tappan, in Orangetown, Rockland County, NY.

The occasion for John’s generosity was to celebrate the conversion of the “Rockland Homes for Heroes” Lease of the former Army site from the Federal Government to a Deed and the resulting launching of the campaign to add 12 new apartments to the site to achieve the vision of helping to end Veteran Homelessness and create a living monument to all Veterans “who never came home”.
