On Sunday April 28th with temperatures in the high 40’s and light rain, volunteers from Neuberger Berman investment company of NYC worked with RH4H’s volunteers to beautify our housing for homeless veterans.

The Neuberger Berman team was lead by Laura Steinberger and Dana Bufano. The volunteers worked under very difficult conditions in order to move and spread 10 cubic yards of mulch to the area of the monuments, ornamental grasses, and buildings. Other duties included litter removal and removing evasive vines. This group has been helping for many years and always does excellent work.

Thank you, Dana, Melissa (and Corey), Maureen, and Murat (and Andrew, too), for a job very well done! The grounds surrounding the veterans’ housing was made all the more lovely by your hard work, with good spirits and energy despite the cold and damp weather. It always feels great to work together and get to know each other while showing gratitude for those who served our country and helping them re-build their lives.

Laura’s response was, “Thank you for all your help yesterday and for providing the Neuberger Berman team with an opportunity to help our veterans and help Homes for Heroes in its mission. What I said to my teammates holds true for you, too: ‘I am grateful and honored to work on this project with you all year after year!’ We’re so excited to hear the plans for the expansion to fourteen new units. There’ll be no shortage of work in the years ahead!”
